Traceability

TRINITEA uses the QR code technology that allows consumers to view the producers and hear from them directly, and learn about the safety and quality standards. Each pack of tea comes with a QR code that can be scanned by consumers to know about the origin of the tea, the indigenous farmer-producer, the sustainable farming practices followed and all the other steps involved in the making of the tea.

Tea

Traceability uses a hash chain similar to a blockchain, as they both utilize a cryptographic hash function for creating a link between two nodes. However, a blockchain (as used by Bitcoin and related systems) is generally intended to support distributed consensus around a public ledger (data), and incorporates/to incorporate a set of rules for encapsulation of data and associated data permissions.

How it Works

Tracebilitea App uses a cryptographic technology that is robust in terms of security.

In the current form of traceability, we are tracing the green leaf plucked by the individual farmer. Its journey to the factory through the hands of the agents, the drivers, and the vehicles till it reaches the factory trough is traced, and a CHF freezes each transaction. Each time a new farmer leaf joins this set of leaves, the data is also amalgamated with other farmer’s tea leaves that join this leaf in its journey. This change in the status of the leaves is captured in the CHF. After the processing, a unique QR code is generated based on the data present in the CHF for any given invoice. This QR code can trace back the journey of the tea leaves back to the individual farmers involved in the leaf production from the final packed tea.

Farmer’s Data & Fair Value

TRINITEA seeks to involve farmers in a self-data ecosystem, creating direct economic benefit structures for farmers’ own data. Based on the principles of Fair Participation, Fair Share, Fair Value and Fair Voice in the entire value chain of data, TRINITEA seeks to create a fair and transparent governance structure for/of agricultural data. The Fairdata Movement is driven by the charter/principle that encompasses the idea that any economic value in the widest sense, arising/emerging from smallholder farmer data or data-driven solutions, (should serve) / (should be reserved for) the benefit of smallholder farmers.
